Five NYU Steinhardt Alumni Win Top Prizes at the 2025 Tony Awards

NYU Steinhardt alumni brought home Best New Musical, Best Revival of a Musical, and more at the 78th annual Tony Awards on June 8.

The five NYU Steinhardt alumni winners were among the NYU community members to receive more than 60 nominations for the 2025 awards. In all, NYU earned nominations in 17 categories. Steinhardt winners and nominees are listed below.

The 2025 Tony Awards were presented by the Broadway League and American Theatre Wing at Radio City Music Hall. The show was hosted by 2016 winner Cynthia Erivo. View the complete list of NYU nominations and winners.

Best New Musical

Winner: Maybe Happy Ending
